I’ve been thinking about this for a little bit now but despite how mal’s been set up as a ‘mentor’ to william his power set is much more aligned with ashe’s from what we know about him - he said himself he doesn’t have a direct connection to the spirit world and instead uses ghoul like how ashe uses the book. 1. that means mal potentially has very relevant info on how to bring back ashe due to his own experience ‘taming’ a demon. 2. that could mean that planeswalkers - what william is - aren’t just humans able to channel the power of the spirit world but an entire category of powerful demon/spirit, like how chaos demons are a specific and highly dangerous type of demon. after all, mal has said that both william and the trickster are more powerful than he is

concept that wight is still technically the wisperer but her powers are so distorted, like a black hole, it's basically fucking everything up. she's like. toxic to anything spirit related. and she may or may not be eroding away the very cycle of the wisperer by existing.

mallard conway and the trickster: you're meant to be the wisperer you should be niceys instead of destroying the spirit world because otherwise you're going to hurt a lot of people. also if u dont stop there wont be a wisperer ever again.

The memories in the spirit world while both represent like… a place I guess they are also very real, conscious beings forever trapped in an endless stasis. They cannot die or grow old, they can’t move or speak but they are definitely conscious (I can say alive bc well… spirit world). They are the objects left behind, a burning house, a rusted swing set, a broken tree swing. All those memories of either the last moments or what it used to be.

Burning house as a view of the last moments that anyone saw it standing, a rusted swing set before it was abandoned, a tire swing before it broke. They are stuck there forever almost as grim landmarks.

Dreams are… similar to memories. They’re an object or a place that has manifested in the spirit world but in contrast: dreams are created by a powerful enough spirit they are not manifestations of things or places that have died. They can be thought of like artificial memories. Unlike memories, they can fade away and “die” in a sense. All over the spirit world is littered with faded and broken dreams from a spirit that has long since ceased to exist.

All of the major places are dreams, created by a strong enough spirit to maintain for a while. Memories are unable to be sustained comfortably, sure you can camp out in a memory for a while but… it’s uncomfortable, oppressive, even more so than the rest of the spirit world. It just feels… wrong, desolate even.

The remnants are all that’s left of what once was a human, a ghost, or a spirit. It’s after they’ve lost all bits of their humanity, their personality, everything. They happen after something died so long ago that it no longer remembers who or what it used to be. It’s just… well… a remnant.

The wisps are a remnant. A special kind but still a remnant. Theyre… different. Not as faded but still just the faded remains of what they used to be—William is a remnant too. Much less faded but still just a broken memory. The spirit world affects him a lot because he’s not supposed to be there, or the real world. He’s stuck between both worlds… almost like the memories. He’s in stasis, a remnant of who he used to be and yet still… William I guess. He’s different he’s not the same but he’s still a person? Right?

The spirits and ghosts are just that, they’re verbatim who they were when they died, If not a little more exaggerated, more passionate. They don’t feel gray emotions, everything is some sort of white or black. They’re the same but just more intense. Also interchangeable I can’t think of a difference.

There’s also demons and other monsters, things that have NEVER been human and never will be. They don’t care about humans, they don’t care about spirits. They are their own being.

There’s also souls which are just spirits that have gotten lost in the void, or someone who wasn’t strong enough to manifest as a ghost. They’re like remnants, just a bit more human.

Jrwi and the fear entities (tma)?

Ok so, first of all, Niklaus would 100% be the web. He has the stage presence of The Spiral, but he's definitely tricky enough to be the web.

Jay would be either Slaughter or Hunt, I can't quite decide which, but either one fits her.

Gillion would be either Slaughter or Vast depending on which aesthetic you wanted to play into. But early Gillion is defiantly Slaughter.

Chip would be an avatar of Desolation, but marked by the lonely.

For PD, William is either Beholding or End, but frankly I'm leaning towards Beholding for him. Mal, however, is End. There's definitely arguments to made for him being Web, but I'd argue that the way he runs the Spirit World makes him End.

Dakota is Hunt.

Vyncent is Lonely, since he's cut off from access to his home world and frankly that's the most Lonely thing ever.

Ashe is Desolation, although I could see arguments for everything with the Trickster making him Stranger. Mark, meanwhile is an Avatar of The Desolation, but he's being stalked by The Lonely

Tide for some reason has End vibes to me as well, though I can't put my finger on why.

At first, I was going to argue that David was Spiral, given how manipulative he is and the layout of the bottom floor of BellTech, which screams Spiral to me. But after thinking about it for a bit, I'd actually say he's corruption, given the whole surgery/sterilization theme with him.

Harlem Shade meanwhile is The Dark for obvious reasons, and frankly the entirety of The Suckening is just The Flesh.
